Roberto Rossellini (Rome, 8 May 1906 – 3 June 1977) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Considered one of the fathers of the Italian neorealist cinema, actually he had the opportunity of experimenting – and often of anticipating – many other new film languages. He was the author and the strong supporter of a kind of didactic cinema, performed through the communication potential of television. This resulted in a series of unforgettable television movies.
