Nathalie Bauer, after a PhD in History, begins to see her translations published in 1990, and she quickly becomes one of the most important French translators from Italian (among the authors she transposed there are Primo Levi, Natalia Ginzburg, Paolo Giordano, Margaret Mazzantini, Antonio Pennacchi). She signs her first novel, Zena, in 2000, followed by Le feu, la vie (2007) and Des Garçons d'avenir (Hopeful Boys, 2011).
