Born in Mezzojuso, in the province of Palermo, on June 13, 1960, Domenica Blanda moved at the age of 7 to Verbania, on Maggiore Lake, where she still lives and works.
After her classical studies, she graduated in Social Sciences at the Bicocca University of Milan; later, at the University of Genoa (where he lived for 10 years), he obtained a specialization in psychiatry and a three-year diploma in Music Therapy.
She worked as a social worker, both in Genoa and Verbania. Ahe has taught the Professional Courses for Social Workers, the first training courses for foreigners, and the course for Primary School Teachers. She collaborated with the Bicocca University of Milan as Tutor in the Social Sciences degree course.
She has worked at the Ministry of the Interior since 2005. In 2010 she was awarded the honorary title of Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic.
A lover of literature and poetry, she is a member of the Dante Alighieri Association, Verbania section, and of the literary Cenacolo A. Cavallini of Lesa.
She published a book of poems in September 2017, entitled "L'Eco ed Io" (Echo and I", publisher il Viandante) and writes book reviews on the website www.loscrivodame.com and on Salvatore Massimo Fazio's blog "Letto riletto e recensito".
