Paolo Gera was born in Novi Ligure in 1959. He graduated in Modern Italian Literature at the University of Genoa under the supervision of Edoardo Sanguineti.
At the end of the 1980’s he began to devise dramaturgical and theatrical projects with the Koinè research group, organized theater workshops for ERT and subsequently founded the Teatro della Pozzanghera with Alessandra Gasparini with which he gave life to numerous shows, participating in events such as the Philosophy Festival and winning the European Tragos Prize for Theater and Dramaturgy - Theater for Social section (XIII edition).
In 2002 his first novel “Zaum” (Edizioni Clandestine) was published. In 2013, he published the novel “Il calore sbagliato” [‘The wrong heat’] online on copylefteratura.org.
In 2014 he graduated in Scientific Naturopathy at Unipsi in Turin with the thesis ‘Nietzsche and the critical threshold’.
He has published three books of poetry in Italy: “L'ora prima” (Rossopietra, 2016), “Poesie per Recaptcha” (Oèdipus, 2018) and “In luogo Pubblico” (puntoacapo, 2019).
