Watercolor railroad
Marked by the rattle of trains, Cassola outlines fragments of choral daily life of families and landscapes crossed by the local railroad tracks. A minimalist watercolor, without frills or plot twists, as probably was the life of towns and suburbs in Tuscany in the thirties.
Certainly not a masterpiece, but a reading with a gentle and real flavour.
