That amazing Evangelisti!
This is a collection of thrilling essays, that, touching upon modernity and its (lack of) literary expression in Italy, deals with literature and cinema with a particular focus on genre fiction and its dignity. With his crystal-clear and never pedantic style, Evangelisti manages to convey critical analyses which are not at all banal, by simply making use of the force of his intelligence and his arguments, avoiding any academic aura. Besides a few repetitions when talking about science-fiction (this is a collection of articles written for books and journals), this is a really extraordinary essay, more intense and sharp in the first section, more witty in the last one (when it deals with “trash” cinema).
